Kerttu Nuorteva, a Finnish-born Soviet citizen and a spy, was dropped into Finland by parachute in February 1942.

She operated undercover in Helsinki until September 7th, when she was arrested after a foolish mistake on her part.

The interrogation is, as the title reveals, the story about her interrogations. To begin with they produced no results.

Kerttu, whose true identity was slowly revealed, refused to confess. Only after several interrogations, conducted using different methods, did she crumble, after realizing the fate of her colleagues, friends and family in the Soviet Union. Paradoxically her downfall correlated with the turning of the war into the favour of the Allied. Despite her co-operation Kerrtu was sentenced to death. She was however saved by the ending of the war.

This is a film about Kerttu Nuorteva's difficult and impossible choices.
