AT THE AGE OF 36 A STRUGGLING  EUROPEAN MUSICIAN DISCOVERS THAT HE IS IN FACT AN AFRICAN PRINCE

Mikael Trolin is a struggling musician, who grew up in a poor suburb outside of Stockholm, Sweden. He had a tough upbringing as the only child to a single mother. The hardest part was being the only black child in the neighbourhood.

Suddenly at the age of 36, Mikael makes a discovery that changes his entire life and self-image. He finds his long-lost father, King Yahaya of the Kwande people, a wealthy and well-educated African, one of the founding fathers of modern Nigeria. Mikael realises that he is not an only child. He has ten sisters and brothers.

The Prince” tells the fascinating story of how the poor European boy goes to Africa to be taken up by his African family and how the aged King Yahaya comes to Sweden to find out how his long-lost and first born son has struggled against racial prejudice and the lack of a father figure. It is not always easy for father and son to get along, but the presence of Lea, Mikael’s lovely daughter, smoothes over some of the differences.
