A FILM ABOUT ORGAN DONATION

Joakim Jarnebring only had two months to live, when he received a new liver. Now he is back at work and he has recently become a father for the first time.

Synnöve Tröen is waiting for a new kidney and pancreas. She is a single mother with two young children. She finds it very hard to keep up with her children. Her biggest dream is to see her kids growing up becoming adults.

We follow the work of a senior transplant surgeon and he discusses the various problems surrounding organ donation.

The film deals with questions like
• Are you really dead when the surgeon removes your organs?
• How many people can be saved with organs from one single donor?
• If you refuse to donate your organs will you get the same standard of care?
• Why do many people find it so hard to donate organs?
