HASSE EKMAN, director, writer and actor
1915
Hans ”Hasse” Gösta Ekman is born in Stockholm. His parents are the legendary Swedish actor Gösta Ekman and his wife Greta (born Sundström).
1922
Hasse starts his first grade at the Linné elementary school in Stockholm.
1924
8-year old Hasse makes his film debut in the film ”Unge greven tar flickan och priset”, where his father Gösta also plays a part.
1926
Hasse gets a little brother, Jan Mikael.
1927
Jan Mikael dies only 9 months old.
1932
Hasse quits school and instead he makes his theatrical debut in the play ”I de bästa familjer”.
1933
Hasse lands his first acting role in the film ”Hemslavinnor”. He also publishes his first autobiography, 17 years old: ”Hur ska de gå med mej?”
He did the illustrations himself.
1934
Hasse takes over directing the play ”Fedja” from director Per Lindberg.
1935 May - November
Hasse travels to Hollywood to learn more about film and stays there for six months.
1936
Hasse acts opposite his father Gösta in the film ”Intermezzo” and leaves home.
1937
Hasse writes the script to the film ”Blixt och dunder”. The film is released in 1938 and Hasse plays a part in it.
