Hasse’s father Gösta dies only 47 years old. Hasse marries Agne- ta Wrangel af Sauss at Ellinge castle. he same year he writes a book about his father, simply titled ”Gösta Ekman”.

Hasse is hired by Lorens Marmstedt, the enterprising and au- dacious ilm and theatre producer, who via his own company TERRAFILM, in the 1940’s fostered and invested in a new gen- eration of Swedish ilm directors such as Hasse Ekman, Ingmar Bergman and Erik ”Hampe” Faustman. Marmstedt had a pro- found inluence on Ingmar Bergman and Hasse Ekman. hey were young and he was generous and gave them creative free- dom. hey could test their wings. Hasse’s irst ilm as both direc- tor and scriptwriter ”Med dej i mina armar” is released.
